Works In Progress
A list of incomplete tasks and ideas to improve the wiki
Complete:
- Alchemy page (all recipes linked!)
- Split up "Where to find" with new labels "Where to buy" and "Reward for"
- Add detailed steals vs. drops for grotto bosses
- Reformatting (non-boss) monster pages to add second line of flavor text (from eye for trouble), include the correct tagging for family, and have items placed with a blank line between it and where to find (see meowgician as template)
- Monster page cleanup:
Reword "Exp." to "Experience"
Reword "Gold" / "Gold Dropped" to "Gold Coins", add "G"
Consistently capitalize "Items Dropped", add blank line before "Where to find"
Expand Family, e.g. Slime -> Slime Family
Combine Boss Category into Family, e.g. Story -> Dragon Family (story boss) - Add "Line" line to top of monster pages, listing all non-boss monsters that share the same 3D model
- Consistently un-bold colon (":") in labels for item, equipment, monster pages
- Match capitalization of page titles to in-game lists
- Item page touch-up
Move "Classification" and "Used by" into section at top
Fill out "Buy price: Cannot Buy", change "gold" to "G"
Mark/link (DQVC) in applicable buy prices, (starting item) in applicable sell prices
Order fields: Where to buy, Where to find, How to make, Dropped by, Reward for
Keep in one section: Alchemises, Required for, Can be used for - Grotto chest loot tables page + relevant links on individual item pages
- Overworld blue chest loot tables page + link and note on each page about odds
- Add pages for accolade outfits and include outfit on all pages part of the outfits
Incomplete or in progress:
- Quests; while the pages that are present are very detailed, many pages, particularly the DLC quests, are missing
- Attributes; equipment lists for each of the attributes, progress here is good but Attack and Defence are nightmarish
- Recipe books; so for the Quester's Rest L3 books (after 25 multiplayer tags), we picked up the book text using Fayt's save, and sourced recipe lists from yab, which is a good bet… but still haven't confirmed recipe order in-game
- Breadcrumbs! AKA adding "parent" pages. Done: Attributes, Vocations. Partway, apparently: Quests. (And in the future?? -> monsters, equipment)
- Adding elemental affinities/AI patterns for all the bestiary monsters (BlueMercury you're a beast)
Shogum, Trauminator, Elusid, Sir Sanguinus, Atlas, Hammibal, Fowleye, Excalipurr, Greygnarl (other grotto bosses are complete); resistances are filled out but need newer formatting
All legacy bosses—move lists are complete, but there's no detailed AI behavior; resistances are filled out but need newer formatting
Alternate-encounter bosses: Goreham-Hogg (Realm of the Mighty), Goresby-Purrvis (Realm of the Mighty), Hootingham-Gore (Realm of the Mighty), Lleviathan (post-game)—no battle info at all
All regular monsters are complete (reiterates: BlueMercury you're a beast!) - Add battle-mechanics info for abilities, where lacking
- Create spell pages for remaining spells (in game details (mp cost, description etc.) + additional info (ex. success rate of zing) + tag as "spell") (see individual spell casting vocations for spell lists/page names)
- All static red chest drops (main page called Red Chests) Complete for the Main Story. Currently working on Post Game. Also need to sit down, link everyhting and do some cleanup.
- DQVC sale pages and corresponding links & buy prices on item pages
Ideas:
(Note — ShadowVibes, Jan 2025: Currently, this is just a list of things I wanted to add to the wiki, but haven't had time yet. While I do plan to get around to some of them, feel free to take them on yourself, or add new ones if you have any thoughts on things that you feel would be useful. If you complete any of these, link them on the Useful Pages page so they can be found!)
These are split into reasonably doable projects and major undertakings, and within each group roughly listed in priority order.
Reasonable Projects (30 minutes - ~1.5 hours):
- Parent Page called chests to contain another copy of all info on the 3 above chest pages for convenience (not strictly necessary but nice to have, requires previous 3 pages completed first)
- Lvl 1/50/99 stats for each vocation
- General descriptions of strengths, weaknesses, and list of notable qualities about each vocation (ex. thieves have high deftness, decent physical stats, and learn half-inch at 32 points in their vocation-specific skill tree)
- Page for a list of Quester's Rest gear (called Quester's Rest), sorted by who gives it to you OR by what conditions are needed for them to give it to you (ex. being an Armamentalist, fully upgrading the inn etc.)
- Revocation Medal List
- Skill Manual list ('Core of the Claw', 'Swordcraft in Summary' etc.)
Major undertakings (3+ hours):
- Page for each category of equipment instead of just a tag page, so that they can be sorted by rough order acquired/alchemy lines/stats etc. (ex. page called sword); or, alternately:
- Page called equipment that lists all gear sorted by some combination of rough order acquired/alchemy lines/stats etc. (ex. swords: ordered, then spears: ordered etc.)
(Note — ShadowVibes, Jan 2025: only one of the two options above should be done (or the first option should contain each of the second option pages) so please remember to make a note here with links to the page(s) you create if you take on part or all of these, to avoid wasted work)
- Section on each vocation's page listing all equipment specific to that vocation + links on relevant equipment pages
- Damage/move formulas, as best as available(?), probably w/ citations and/or search and see if yab has a sheet for this?
- Following up on equipment lists per stat: Lists of move formulas which each stat factors into, keeping an eye to also write down + verify the "obvious" stuff (like "defence never affects damage received from any spell")
- Standardize a format for equipment status resistances
-
- capitalization
- links to spells
- maybe links to pages for other statuses? (stop, paralysis, poison)
- phrasing: "Dispels XX% infliction rate of…", "Completely dispels infliction rate of…"
- phrasing: "Resists XX% (effect of?) MP Absorption"
- dbl. check reducing-power vs. occasionally dispelling for poison & MP absorption
- dbl. check if poison and envenomation are resisted the same way (probably???)
