117 Engaging the Sage
If you want to know the Supreme Sage's most sacred secret, you'll have to put on a real command performance. Finish Atlas off with Zam to satisfy the absent-minded, book-dwelling mystic from Gittingham Palace.
Prerequisites: 116 Sagier and Pagier completed, must have a Sage at level 40 or higher in the party
Repeatable? No.
- Return to the bookshelf on L2 of Gittingham Palace to start the quest. The Supreme Sage wants you to defeat Atlas with Zam, which is learned by Sages at level 2.
- Atlas is a boss that can regularly be encountered in mid-level treasure maps. He has around 6,500 HP, acts twice per turn, and is weak to light-elemental attacks. He is able to land desperate attacks and attack the entire party with Crackerwhack.
- The grotto calculator can help determine which treasure maps have Atlas as a boss.
- Inflict around 6,000 damage to Atlas, then have your Sage cast Zam each turn until he is defeated. Abilities like Channel Anger, Caster Sugar, and Divine Intervention are helpful for increasing the damage inflicted with spells.
- After defeating the boss, return to the bookshelf at Gittingham Palace to complete the quest.
