145 Mysterious Monarch

At Gittingham Palace, the ghost of Lieutenant Goresby-Purrvis asked you to put the confused former monarch, King Godfrey of the House of Gitt, to rest.

Prerequisites: Beat the game, DLC downloaded, Quest #143: Thingy, King of, er... completed.
Repeatable? No.

  • Go to Gittingham Palace and speak to the ghost of Goresby-Purrvis outside the entrance. If you haven't completed Quest #143, he won't appear there. He wants you to defeat the old King Godfrey and put him to rest.
  • King Godfrey will be found inside the throne room on L4 of Gittingham Palace. To reach the throne room, head to the east side on L1 and exit to the inner courtyard. There, enter the main hall in the center from the southwest. Go around the room towards the stairs on the center right. There is a healing spring there that will completely restore your party's HP and MP if you need to do so.
  • On the second floor, exit to the balcony on the west and reenter from the doors on the south. Pass through the bridge and head up the stairs to the third floor. Exit from the door leading outside in the southwest, then climb the stairs outside to reach the throne room. Speak to King Godfrey inside to face him in battle.
  • King Godfrey has 4,575 HP, acts twice per turn, and has two different attack patterns that he alternates between. He is weak to both Wind and Light-elemental attacks. In his first attack pattern, he can cast a Kafrizz which always goes haywire, unleash a Thin Air attack, perform Disruptive Wave, and flings the ball from the top of his staff, which will randomly attack your party twice. In his second attack pattern, he can also fling the ball from his staff, cast Kasap, as well as casting a Kacrack spell which always goes haywire.
  • If you've already beaten the game, you should have no trouble defeating him as he is not as difficult as Corvus. Protect your party with Magic Barrier and heal when necessary. Gale Fource will be doubly helpful, especially if you have the 'Armamentalist's Album' from Quest #111. Make sure to use Eye for Trouble on him to get the second page of his description, otherwise you will have to fight him again on another player's file through multiplayer to get another chance.

Made lucid by his defeat, the King disappeared into the void when he learnt that his son, King Godwyn, had died. Time to report back to Goresby-Purrvis!

  • After defeating him, there will be a short cutscene. Go back to the entrance of Gittingham Palace and speak to the ghost of Goresby-Purrvis to complete the quest.

Reward: Pallium regale, recipes for Psyche swiper, Blessed helm, Glorious armour, Diana gauntlets, and Basilic boots.
